How much berberine is in each capsule?
600 mg in each capsule, so two capsules is 1,200 mg for the day. That is on the front of the bottle, not in the fine print on the back. A 60-count bottle is a 30-day supply, not two months.
Should I start out with one a day and slowly increase? Do you take it with meals?
Yes to both. Week one, take one capsule with your biggest meal. From week two, one with breakfast and one with dinner, always after you have eaten. Never take both at once.
Can you take it with metformin safely?
A lot of customers do, and a lot of doctors okay it. Both lower blood sugar, so bring the bottle to the doctor who prescribed the metformin and ask first. Watch for lows, like feeling shaky or dizzy between meals. Never stop a prescription on your own.
Will my sugar drop too low?
At two capsules with meals, lows are rare. They show up when berberine is stacked on metformin or taken while fasting. If you feel shaky, dizzy or sweaty between meals, eat something and check your meter. Tell your doctor.
How long does it take for berberine to lower blood sugar?
Appetite is the first thing to change, usually in the first one to two weeks. Fasting numbers move in weeks two to four for people who check them. The A1c takes about 90 days, which is why the 3-bottle pack is the one most customers choose.
What if it does nothing for me?
Give it the full 30 days, two capsules a day with meals. Day 30 is where most people quit a bottle that was about to work. If you are still not glad you bought it, send us a message and you get every cent back. Nothing to ship back.
Is there even berberine in the bottle?
Yes, and you can see the number. Every batch goes to an independent US lab for berberine content, purity and heavy metals, and the report is on the site. Recent tests found Amazon bottles with little or no berberine in them, which is why the report matters.
Why Ceylon cinnamon and not regular cinnamon?
The cinnamon in the grocery store is the regular kind, which is hard on the liver at a daily capsule dose. Ceylon is the kind used in the blood sugar studies and is easier on the liver. The 100 mg here is true Ceylon, and the batch report says so.
Once you start berberine, are you on it forever?
No. Most studies ran three to six months. Many customers take a one to two week break every two or three months and retest at 90 days. Your blood work decides, not the bottle.
Is it safe long term, and what about my liver?
Berberine has decades of use and human studies at 1,000 to 1,500 mg a day. The serving here stays under that ceiling and is split in two. Not for pregnancy, breastfeeding or trying to conceive, and not for children. If you take statins or blood pressure medication, check with your doctor first.
